So….it’s finally here! After many, many hours of research and developing, the WP ECommerce Bible is available. The poplular WP ECommerce plugin for WordPress, is an impressive ecommerce plugin for WordPress to say the least, all that was missing was proper documentation. So after months of finding fixes, tips and tricks and getting to learn the plugin inside and out, myself and writing partner Arbie (crn-web.com) compiled the WP Ecommerce Bible.
It’s filled with over 120 pages of quality content, around 50 illustrative screenshots, and more than a dozen helpful text files for easy copy/paste. If you’ve ever wanted to know anything at all about this plugin, you’ll find it in the Bible. It’s currently up-to-date with WP ECommerce version 3.6.7 which is set to be released this week. All minor version updates will be included at no additional cost once you’ve purchased the Bible, so when there is an update or new version, you’re not stuck…just download a new copy and your activation key will open it as well.
We’re really proud of this documentation and believe it to be a very important part of setting up a successful installation of WP Ecommerce on your WordPress site.
You can find the Bible here: www.wpecommercebible.com
Pick up a copy and then come back and tell me what you think!
So, until next time…

c’mon…no mac support?!?
The WP-Ecommerce Bible is now available for Macs! I purchased it last week and think the information in it is thoughtfully laid out to be as helpful and straight forward as any documentation can get. The Ecom Bible is well organized AND entertaining! It walks you thru the whole process of installing the WP-Ecommerce plugin, helps you understand all the settings, how to take advantage of SEO and RSS, etc. It’s an easy read. I highly recommend purchasing it. Well worth the price!
I think that its kinda dumb that we have to pay in order to understand how to use the dang program! I spent over $65 last night on different modules and gold cart. I think it should be included with gold cart or at least discounted dramatically because the documentation cost’s more than the actual program! IT MAKE’s NO SENSE AT ALL!
I do appreciate you creating it though, but I think personally think that its more trouble then it’s really worth and I wish I could get my money back, if I can get the stupid thing to work properly
Hmmm…block caps – you must be cross. Surprised that you are posting on Shayne’s website about the lack of documentation from Instinct though.
He spotted a problem – and fixed it. If you want the fix, the price is $37 (about half what you paid for your modules) – if you don’t then you don’t have to.
Your issue isn’t with Shayne and the Bible though – it is with Instinct and their plugin – perhaps your comments would be better voiced on their forum rather than Shayne’s comments?
You MUST buy this book! The plugin is free… these folks aren’t the folks who created the plugin, they’re just REALLY knowledgeable about how to get it working. Oh, and they’re really nice guys, as well!
Shayne,
Does the Bible include how to edit the back-end files or would that be best done with a support ticket?
I am trying to turn this into a “free shopping cart” where people select expensive equipment they are interested in and submit it via form so my company knows what the person is interested in before contacting.
However, I need to change some of the default verbiage, like removing price and PnP from being displayed at all.
Kindly,
Michael
Michael,
It does talk about stuff like that…although I’m not sure how in depth you want…so it might be best to get a support ticket (or 2 depending on how much you want changed) and get it done.
Hi guys, nice work on this documentation, I agree the creators needed help getting word out on how to use it and you guys have filled the gap. Is there any information about payment gateway integration in the guide? I’m looking for help with getting this thing integrated with a specific payment gateway
The Bible does not talk about integrating particular payment gateways into the plugin…it only goes over what is built into the plugin.
Is there any other way of purchasing this download, I don’t have a credit card and cant make any online payments!
Unfortunately, Paypal is the only payment option at this time.
Seriously. Paid thru paypal and my download is corrupt. Tried to contact you thru the email provided on the bible website and have gotten no reply. It’s been a few days. Please advise. Really!
Please contact me again…I had a hard drive failure and lost some email files…
I’m using wp-ecommerce for a client, we bought the gold version as well as the documentation, but the support for adding payment gateways is so bad we’re having a major problem, can you give us some tips?
We don’t offer support to how-to’s on adding additional payment gateways. That is something you’ll need to contact Instinct about.
Hi Shayne, I looked into wp e-commerce a few months back just to have it as a skill in my arsenal in case such a project required it. I never really stuck with it, although i did buy your bible.
I now have a project which i think wp e-commerce is perfect. Im babbling here!!
Basically, i was wondering when the next update for the bible will be out? There seems to be a lot of changes in 3.6.9, is there a new release coming soon?
believe it or not I bought the bible again tonight, forgetting i’d bought it first time round… what an idiot!
Yes, there will be an update out soon. We are waiting for the full release of 3.6.10 to get the Bible fully updated and then it will be released (free of charge to existing customers), and at that time we will be launching a new WP Ecommerce Bible website as well.
Hi Shayne,
Just wanna ask this one question. Through manual payment, does the stock deduct automatically from database after user did the purchase?
Thank You.
Yes, manual payment still deducts the item’s stock just like any other payment gateway…the only difference is that it will not deduct it until you approve that purchase (which you have to do with it being manual).
Thanks for the reply. Silly me :p Wasn’t looking at the quantity table in database
